Job Title: Kindergarten Teacher 

Reports to: Elementary Dean of Academics

Shift Type: Full Time Position 

Contract Term: 10 Months 

Location: Islamic School of Irving 

 
 
A Kindergarten Teacher's job description generally involves creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, focusing on foundational skills like reading, writing, and math, while also fostering social and emotional development. They plan and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and communicate with parents regularly. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Instruct students in foundational academic skills (letters, numbers, basic reading/writing) and social-emotional skills. 
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with curriculum standards. 
  • Assessment: Evaluate student progress, both academically and socially, and provide feedback to parents or guardians. 
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment. 
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with parents, administrators, and other staff. 
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff to enhance student learning and well-being. 
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in early childhood education. 
Skills and Qualities:
