Islamic School of Irving’s Quranic School (IQS) is looking for a Part-Time Quran Teacher who will be responsible for the following tasks:
(This position requires a candidate to work only 3 hours a day Monday to Friday AND/OR Saturday/Sunday). Local candidates, living around Irving will be preferred.
• Teaching the Arabic alphabet and recitation of the Quran with basic Tajweed rules to children aged 5 to 15
• Following a process for frequent reviews and progress tracking students and teachers, feedback to be provided to Parents and IQS Management
• Evaluating students and conducting periodic examinations
• Developing and instilling Islamic values and convictions in the students
• Maintaining discipline, motivating and encouraging student involvement in all Hifz related programs
• Assist Hifz students with memorization of the holy Quran on part-time basis
Desired skills and abilities
• Hafiz (memorizes Quran) and should be able to recite with proper tajweed
• Proven track record of working with maktab based Quran program
• Experience working with girls aged 8 years and older
• Good communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong Islamic Character with good communication, organizational abilities
• A strong understanding of Islamic etiquette and appropriate behavior
• A thorough understanding of challenges and situations related to youth
• Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel will be a huge plus
